Fior di latte and basil
From Civitavecchia to Keira Street.
After more than ten years at some of Sydney’s best hospitality venues, Orlando packed up and moved down to Wollongong to open a restaurant of his own.
Valentine’s Day on Keira Street
Orlando opened Da Orlando at 348 Keira Street on Valentine’s Day 2015, turning his dream of owning his own restaurant into reality.
The Roman way
Orlando cooks pizza in the traditional Roman style, so it comes out crunchier and less doughy. He proves the dough for 72 hours at the perfect temperature.
The Best Pizza, Wollongong
The Quality Business Awards named Da Orlando The Best Pizza, Wollongong, for an overall quality rating of 95% or higher.
Now in Kiama
A second Da Orlando opened on Manning Street, Kiama, with the same 72-hour Roman dough. The Illawarra Mercury called it a pizza worth travelling for.
Nonna’s touch
Orlando brings his knowledge of pizza, and his mother Angela brings a nonna’s touch. Together, the pair have grown Da Orlando.
Today Orlando and Angela.
Dream Chaser
Orlando wrote the whole journey down, from a small city in Italy to Sydney.
